Zack and Miri Make a Porno (2008)

Director: Kevin Smith
Writer: Kevin Smith
Cast: Seth Rogen, Elizabeth Banks, Craig Robinson, Gerry Bednob, Jason Mewes, Jennifer Schwalbach Smith, Justin Long, Jeff Anderson, Traci Lords, Katie Morgan
Genre: Comedy, Romance, Drama

Zack and Miri Makes a Porno is easily recognizable as a Kevin Smith movie, and would have been so even without Jason Mewes in it. It's not Smith's best work, but Seth Rogen and Elizabeth Banks goes a long way in this kind of movie.

I find that Kevin Smith's ability to write good dialogue is often going by unnoticed because of his sense of humor. Yes, he does often take things just a notch or three too far, but the guy knows a thing or two about taking everyday dialogue to the standard needed to be screen worthy.

There's a plot going this time, as it's not always the case in a Smith movie, but it's got some flaws. Still, there's at least something taking the movie towards its end. Not too original, while somewhat daring.

Anyway. You'll get a good deal of entertainment value out of this if you like the Smith style of dialogue or humor. Should you be lucky enough to love both, you might even also love this. Without either, you'll probably not get value for your time unless you're a huge Rogen or Banks fan. I like them both and Smith's dialogue abilities, so I got my value worth even on second viewing.
