The Reader is a strange movie. It's superb acting and the story is well delivered. My problem is the story itself. This is one of those movies I wish I could recommend, but I just feel it never was necessary to tell it.
I get why I should care. How the man struggles with his past and what he learn, but I really don't care in the end. It's worth watching for the acting, but I get little else from it at all. You however might succeed were I failed, so a couple of hours in the company of a brilliant Kate Winslet and the rest of the cast might turn out a lot more rewarding for you.
