Trading Places is the story of a couple of wealthy brothers making a bet between them for their own amusement. A bet that changes the life of two very different people, as their rich puppet-masters pulls strings to reverse their lifes. The rich and engaged stock broker lose his money, home, fiance and reputation, while the poor con-artist is offered his position, salary and home. How will they do facing their new challenges?
Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy stars as the unknowing puppets of this 80s movie, and I've seen both doing both worse and better performances. I doubt it was very funny or innovative even in the early 80s, but it was surely a rather forgettable movie to watch now. It has its moments though, so it didn't feel like a complete waste like World's Greatest Dad or All About Steve.
On a side note Jamie Lee Curtis has a supporting role and we also see James Belushi in a small part.
