Mouth to Mouth (1978)

Mouth to Mouth

One of John Duigan's early works follows four young kids in the late 70's of Melbourne, Australia. Overall the movie feels like a prophecy of things to come from Duigan, but it's far from uninteresting on its own. It's a realistic feel to the entire experience and he doesn't forget the drinking and sexual habits of young people.

The leading characters are portrayed with an eye for group dynamics and relating personalities, without becoming too similar or cliched for the sake of cliche. Duigan doesn't blow smoke up your arse, but rather follows his character along a realistic path. They're all someone you can relate to, like the cover says...

They could be your children. They could be your friends.
